BBQ Boyz team begins 26-unit project that uses federal program to create jobs as it brings some VooDoo to south Florida The Sunshine State is ready for some VooDoo, y’all. Jack Flechner and his BBQ Boyz have started construction on the first of 26 planned VooDoo BBQ & Grill locations in Florida — by far
the largest single deal we’ve ever made — with an eye toward opening just after Thanksgiving. Already, it’s creating plenty of buzz in local media. News articles in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, South Florida Business Journal and The Palm Beach Post, among others, have shone a bright light on the team. We know we’ve got great food, and once people get in, they’ll love it. I just want it to get open.”
The new VooDoo will occupy a corner space in the popular Pembroke Lake Square retail and shopping center in Pembroke Pines, a suburb southeast of Fort Lauderdale. It’s just off a pair of well-traveled multi-lane roads (Hiatus Road and Pines Boulevard) and near a large hospital and several large subdivisions. That’s the kind of location we’re looking for, with a great mix of retail, institutional and residential traffic that’ll visit us throughout the day and evening. READ MORE
